As we are quickly approaching 2022, the tech trends for 2022 must be at the forefront of your mind. The tech world moves fast, and if you don’t adapt, you’re going to be left behind. If you haven’t already, give our blog 5 Biggest Trends in Tech in 2021” a read. It’s interesting to look back at that blog and compare trends we believed would be emerging this year.

We referenced Gartner Identifies the Top Strategic Technology Trends for 2022 in combination with our rankings for this blog post. Here are the top 5 trends in tech for 2022.

1) Generative AI

“Generative AI is an exciting new type of machine learning that can produce completely original content based on what it has learned from its data.” Gartner Generative AI is a recent development in artificial intelligence that allows computers to generate their own content. The possibilities of what you can create with generative AI are astonishing. From artwork to creating new faces based on photography, generative AI can be used for many different use cases. Generative AI uses audio files, texts or images to create content. An example of this is that the AI can create images of human faces from data. This data takes into account photos of celebrities to make new faces that don’t exist. This type of AI can be used for marketing, healthcare, art, and more.

2) Cloud-Native Platforms (CNPs)

Becoming cloud-native promises speed, flexibility, better products, and lower costs. Ultimately, cloud-native design enables faster application time-to-market. Engineering teams have much more flexibility, thereby making the business more agile.

“Gartner predicts that cloud-native platforms will serve as the foundation for more than 95% of new digital initiatives by 2025 — up from less than 40% in 2021.” Gartner

3) Autonomic Systems

“Unlike automated or even autonomous systems, autonomic systems can dynamically modify their own algorithms without an external software update, enabling them to rapidly adapt to new conditions in the field, much like humans can.”Gartner  As every form of market integrates some form of automation or autonomy, it is not surprising that autonomic systems will be a trend in 2022. As enterprises expand and technology intelligence grows, systems that can monitor and maintain themselves will be heavily relied on.

The name autonomic systems derive from the human autonomic nervous system that regulates itself. Like the human body regulates itself, autonomic systems are meant to control themselves without any need for human interference.

4) Hyperautomation

Hyperautomation provides a fast and effective way to streamline your business operations by identifying areas where automation can be applied. With hyperautomation, you utilize technology and tools to ensure everything in an enterprise that can be automated is. Consequently, speeding up efficiency. “Gartner research shows that the top-performing hyperautomation teams focus on three key priorities: improving the quality of work, speeding up business processes, and enhancing the agility of decision-making,” said Groombridge Gartner .

5) AI Engineering

To see value in AI tools, an enterprise needs the correct AI engineers and talent to ensure these projects are executed efficiently and beneficial to the company. “By 2025, the 10% of enterprises that establish AI engineering best practices will generate at least three times more value from their AI efforts than the 90% of enterprises that do not.”Gartner

If you are familiar with some of these technology trends or they are brand new to you, it’s important to note how AI, automation, and autonomy are common themes you will see in 2022. As enterprises scale, they need to have as much automation as possible. This means that for businesses to be as efficient as possible, they must utilize the power of AI. Cloud platforms are evolving, and it’s time to make sure your enterprise is up to speed.
